Experiencing a new world
close to home
Thanks to the partnership with bilingual institutes Iunior and Petranova, campers develop new skills and experience adventures from the Anglo-American world, all in English.
The camp is run entirely in English by mother tongue counselors. From the moment they arrive to the end of the day, children live a full immersion experience through games, activities and sports inspired by classic American summer camps.
All participants take part in an academic program of 15 hours per week. On the first day student English levels are assessed and placed accordingly in classes with qualified teachers. Levels are aligned to the Common European Framework for Languages (CEFR) and the curriculum, based on Cambridge ESOL, focuses on enhancing speaking, listening, reading and writing.
The English programs are engaging, communicative and complementary to the camp as a whole and serve to build the confidence of young learners as well as provide parents with feedback on their child’s knowledge and participation through an end-of-the-week report.
The Alphabet Day Camp is held at the Iunior International Institute, a bilingual school that has been operating in Rome since the early 1980s. The beautiful building where Iunior is located today dates back to 1914. Initially a private residence, it has been used as a school for many years and is located in Via G.B. De Rossi 48, halfway between Piazza Bologna and Via Nomentana.
The location in equipped with a beautiful indoor gym with a rock-wall, a 5-aside soccer field, a theater, a basketball court, a music lab, classrooms and creative workshops, and a canteen, all surrounded by a garden with trees and large green spaces.
Our teachers are constantly present in the organization of all educational, recreational and sports activities, guaranteeing the supervision, involvement and safety of campers at all times.
